Ex-Secret Service Agent: Hillary Used Private Email Knowing it was Hacked
Hillary Clinton continued using her private email to discuss classified information despite knowing her server had been hacked, a former Secret Service agent said on the Alex Jones Show Thursday.
Dan Bongino, a 12-year veteran of the agency who served under presidents Bush and Obama, stated during the nearly hour-long interview that a high-level source had revealed that the former secretary of state knowingly exposed national secrets.
“A source fed to me… and by the way Alex, an unimpeachable source by any measure… This is an unimpeachable source who said, ‘Not only was the email server hacked,’ which is breaking news… but not only was it hacked Alex, but the Clintons knew it was hacked and they kept using it,” he said.
Bongino, who published the account in his latest book, “The Fight: A Secret Service Agent’s Inside Account of Security Failings and the Political Machine,” said subsequent investigation into the claim backed up the source’s statement.
“You have a woman running for president of the United States who traded our deepest national security secrets over a private server she knew wasn’t secured and that nefarious actors were looking at the emails and she did it anyway,” he said.
“When I heard the story I couldn’t believe it. I had to make sure I double and triple checked just to be sure because I don’t write stuff in my book otherwise.”
According to congressional investigators, Clinton’s private server was repeatedly hit by hack attempts in 2014 that originated from multiple countries including China, South Korea and Germany.
A February 2011 memo sent to Clinton also warned of “a dramatic increase … in attempts by [redacted] to compromise the private home e-mail accounts of senior [State] Department officials.”
Several national security experts have concluded that Clinton’s server almost certainly lacked the security measures to keep out a determined nation state actor as well.
“If all that she had was standard technology… it would be merely a speed bump for a sophisticated adversary to gain access to everything there,” Richard C. Schaeffer Jr., a former director of information assurance at the National Security Agency, told the Washington Post. “On a [target] scale of 1 to 10, she’s a 10. When you think of treaties, trade negotiations, any thing that the secretary of state would be involved in, she would be an incredibly lucrative target — maybe even more so than the president.”
The latest revelation in the email scandal suggests that Clinton even instructed an aide to remove classification markings before having them sent in an insecure fashion.
“This is gigantic,” said former federal prosecutor Joseph diGenova. “She caused to be removed a classified marking and then had it transmitted in an unencrypted manner. That is a felony. The removal of the classified marking is a federal crime. It is the same thing to order someone to do it as if she had done it herself.”
The FBI is currently investigating possible public corruption violations and whether or not Clinton’s server was breached during her time at the U.S. Department of State.
