POST FALLS, Idaho – An 89-year-old Korean War veteran is being forced from his home, and he says he doesn’t know why.

Jerry Agre moved into the River City Village more than 15 years ago. But a week before Christmas he was given a 90-day notice to vacate.

“It was such a shock and so terribly upsetting just before Christmas,” said Agre. “It was awful.”

Agre says he’s never missed rent or caused any problems. The property manager has declined to comment.

Agre owns a cat, which is prohibited according to the lease. But Agre says the property manager OK’d the pet because of a note from his medical doctor.

“He was very unhappy about that,” said Agre.

Agre is the second war vet to be given an eviction notice since December. His neighbor, 67-year-old Bill Davis was given the same letter but doesn’t know why.

KHQ is continuing to look into this story and will bring updates on-air and online as they become available.
